“Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.” — Romans 12:15 (WEB)
1. Be kind
Pray and reply the way you would want someone to pray for you on your hardest day. Encourage, comfort and bless. Assume the best about each other. Disagreements about theology or church practice belong elsewhere — here, we simply pray.
2. Pray with people, don't preach at them
- Don't condemn, shame or lecture anyone about why they are suffering or what they must have done wrong.
- Don't use replies to debate, argue doctrine or recruit people to a particular church or group.
- Everyone is welcome to ask for prayer, whatever they believe.
3. No medical advice
Please don't diagnose, recommend treatments or remedies, or suggest that faith means someone should avoid doctors. Never tell anyone to stop their medication or treatment. We pray for healing and trust God with the outcome, while encouraging everyone to follow the guidance of their care team.
4. No fundraising or soliciting
Don't ask for or offer money, gifts, bank details or payment links — including for yourself, a ministry or a cause. Don't advertise products, services or other websites. If someone asks you for money, please report it.
5. No spam
No repetitive posts, chain messages, automated content or off-topic promotion.
6. Protect everyone's privacy
- Don't share anyone else's full name, contact details, address, workplace or other identifying information without their permission. Use first names or initials.
- Don't try to find out who posted an anonymous request.
- Don't copy private or personal requests to other websites or social media.
7. Nothing harmful or unlawful
No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm or breaks the law.
How moderation works
- Public prayer requests are reviewed by a moderator before they appear on the forum.
- Moderators may lightly edit a request to remove identifying details, or hide content that breaks these guidelines.
- Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a warning, a posting restriction or account suspension.
- If your content is removed and you think we made a mistake, contact us and a different team member will take a look.
Reporting
Every request and reply has a Report option. Reports are private: the person you report is not told who reported them. A moderator reviews each report and takes action where needed. You can also block members so you no longer see their content.
If someone is in crisis
If you read something suggesting a person may be in danger, please report it straight away so a moderator can see it and share crisis information with them. Don't try to counsel someone through a crisis yourself — encourage them to contact local emergency services or a crisis line.
If you are in crisis
If you are in immediate danger or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right now. ONE PRAYER is a prayer community and cannot provide emergency, medical or mental-health services.
