Who we are
ONE PRAYER is operated by the ONE PRAYER team. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions, contact contact@oneprayer.church.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address, a display name you choose, and a securely hashed password.
- Prayer content — the prayer requests, updates, replies and prayers you post, and whether you chose to post anonymously or privately.
- Notifications — your notification preferences and the in-app notifications we generate for you (for example, when someone prays for your request).
- Messages to us — anything you send through the contact form, including your name and email address.
- Safety records — reports you submit or that concern your content, and moderation actions, which we keep to protect the community.
- Technical information — limited server logs (such as IP address and time of request) used for security and to prevent abuse, including rate limiting.
Prayer requests may include sensitive information, such as health or religious details. Please share only what you are comfortable with; you can always post anonymously or privately.
Who can see your prayer requests
- Public requests are shown on the prayer forum after moderator review. If you post anonymously, your name is not shown.
- Private requests are visible only to you, the prayer volunteers assigned to pray for them, and our moderators. They never appear on the public forum.
How we use information
- To run the prayer community: showing requests, recording prayers, delivering replies and notifications.
- To keep people safe: moderating content, handling reports and preventing spam or abuse.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful so we can improve them.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers, and we never use prayer content or health information to target or personalise advertising.
Analytics
Our own analytics are cookieless and aggregate-only: we count page views per page without cookies, without cross-site tracking and without building a profile of you.
Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie (op_session) to keep you signed in and a consent cookie (op_consent) to remember your advertising choice. Advertising cookies are only set if you opt in, and only on general editorial pages — never on prayer pages. See our cookie & ad preferences page to review or change your choice.
We only send email you have agreed to receive, such as reply notifications or a digest, plus essential account messages (for example, a password reset you requested). Every notification email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choices at any time in My Prayers → Settings.
Purchases
The optional 10 Days of Hope product is sold through Gumroad, which handles checkout, payment, delivery and refunds under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details.
Retention and deletion
- You can delete your account at any time from My Prayers → Settings. Deleting your account removes your prayer requests and associated personal information.
- You can close or delete individual requests yourself at any time.
- Moderation and security records are kept only as long as needed to protect the community and are then removed.
- Backups are retained for up to 14 days and then overwritten, so deleted information may persist in backups for up to that period before disappearing completely.
Your rights and choices
You can access and download a copy of your data from My Prayers → Settings (data export), correct your details, change notification preferences, or delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights — such as to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact contact@oneprayer.church.
Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls for our team and regular backups. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
ONE PRAYER is not directed at young children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and, where appropriate, let members know.
